Since I have off from work for almost two weeks, I’ve been cleaning out my basement, garage, and storage up in my bedroom area. Now my living room is full of items I been meaning to sell. Most of the stuff is or has been listed on Craigslist. Some items like my baseball card  and stamp collection from the mid to late 80s will be taken to local shops to see what I can get for them. This is all monies that will be dumped into a hopefully iEverything upgrade spending spree by the end of the year. So far an old 27″ TV and a DVD player went immediately.

The other items I posted is/are disc golf bag and discs, Hoegaarden beer light, Becks beer light, Budweiser holiday steins, 23″ electric fireplace, Xbox 360 games, Wii games, printer and scanner, and a weed wacker.

I also have some autographed LP posters of Bad Company and some other bands around here somewhere.

Interested in anything let me know.

You just got to love all these articles from half-ass analysts, haters, and ‘talk out their ass’ asses. Everyone is quick to claim that the Wii is soon to die. The Wii is just a fad. It’s domino marketing sells will soon dwindle and all the Wiis will collect dust. Wii owners are only interested in Wii Sports and Wii Play and the possible first party title. Their is no way that attache rate of the Wii will match Xbox or PS3.

Below is just units sold according to nextGenWars.

nexgenwars.com

This only shows total hardware. The attache rate for the Wii is nearing 5 games owned per console with the PS3 nipping at its heels. The Xbox360 has a total of 7 games per unit. Those numbers are close if you factor in the 360 was out a whole year before the Wii.

What games do I own? Do I help the attache rate? I sure as shit do.

First party – Wii Sports, Wii Play, Links Crossbow, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros.
Third party -  Rayman Raving Rabbids, Excitruck, Geometry Wars, Ghost Squad, Resident Evil 4
Numerous Virtual Console Games
Coming Soon – Mario Kart (Sunday), House of the Dead 2 & 3, and Mercury Meltdown (these 3 are just definites that I will have within the month)

It is almost time to get one year older. This year is my 2nd anniversary of my 29th birthday. Or, otherwise known as my 31st birthday…ugh. It is about a month away and I decided to post my wants for my birthday. (Not like my family knows of this site or even know that Qwikstreet is my online moniker.) Maybe some rich online viewer wants to buy me something on my Amazon wishlist.

This year I want:

PDGA Membership (or gift certificate towards it)
Gamestop Gift Certificate (so I can buy Super Smash Brothers Brawl which comes out on my birthday)
Wii  Zapper, Wii Points Card, Nyko Wii Charging Station, or Nyko Perfect Shot Gun
Bottle of Bombay Gin

You think I’m talking about Super Mario Galaxy? Nope, not really. I do love the game and spent lots of time getting stars and star bits and turning into Boo Mario. But, I’m talking about another recent release with Galaxy in the title. I think I spent more hours this week in this game then I have all of November on other Wii games, and that is quite a lot.

Geometry WarsI’m talking Geometry Wars Galaxies. Holy shit is this game fun and addicting. I spent many quarters back in my day on a game called Asteroids. Geometry Wars is Asteroids on steroids and LSD. It is an insane frantic action packed colorful arcade game that will keep my up many nights. Last night I was up until 3am playing the game and boosting the stats of my drones. The drones help you battle through waves and waves of shapes, black holes, and ships. My favorites so far are the turret and the collect drones. The game works well with the Wii Classic Controller. You can upload your scores to an online scoreboard. There are a few galaxies where my score is in the top 10. That I am sure will not last long, but I like the gratification when I see my name on the top leaderboard.

I strongly suggest this game. You can even download the XBLA version (Geometry Wars Evolved) to your DS for traveling. I have not been so addicted to an arcade style game this bad since Lumines for the PSP.

After months of either having the money and not finding one or finding one and not having the money, I was finally able to get one and one together to make two. So no more me or I or you (singular) but now its Wii. I actually got mine on Craigslist and didn’t pay an ass load of money. Instead I got a sweet deal. Normally you’ll see on Craigslist a Wii plus 5 Sports games for $400. Oh boy, they are playing off Wii Sports as 5 individual games. Only dumb parents not doing their research fall sucker to this.

Not me, I got the Wii (unregistered) and box, Wii Sports, Call of Duty 3, Chicken Shoot, and Resident Evil 4 with a guide for $300. Sounded to good to be true. Especially when the phone number listed was a 201 area code (Jersey City, Newark, etc.). I’m no where near there and I got lost once in Bayonne on a Friday night. Not the place anyone wants to be. Luckily, he moved down here recently and was local. Still, deal sounding too good and I never bought from Craigslist and went to some strange persons house with all them twenties. He was Asian so I took the chance. Not saying I would of ran if the person’s name was Jamal, Pedro, Jose, or Tyrone. I’m from Allentown my whole life and dealt with all types of people with no problems. I’ve had good history with Asians my whole life from neighbors to friends. (Sadly no Asian women as dates.) As a father 0f two with a mortgage and a car payment, money is tight and not as abundant to throw around like my bachelor years. However, I do what I can to earn some extra dough for my personal spending outside the budget plans the wife and I worked on. I’ve got two online shopping carts that are near down and will more than pay for one of two items I want this year. The first being a Nintendo Wii. Sadly, both shopping carts are for a friend and one for a family member. It’s hard to over charge those you know; otherwise I’d have a new TV as well.

Now that the money is almost in hand, I need to do step 2 of getting a Wii….and that is finding one. Every time I go to EB Games, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. I look for a Wii and have yet to see one sitting on the shelves. I found more Xbox 360 Elites and of course PS3s. I’m already starting to pimp out unplayed DS games to get my hands on some Wii and Gamecube games to prep my library.

So close.
